Gujarat police have arrested two individuals from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh in connection with a bulk voice message released by a pro-Khalistan group. The message threatened to storm the Narendra Modi Stadium ahead of the India-Australia cricket match in Ahmedabad on March 9. The cyber crime cell of the Ahmedabad police traced the origin of the message to a facility set up in Rewa for call spoofing. The accused, Rahul Kumar and Narendra Kushwaha, both from Satna in MP were arrested and the police recovered 11 SIM boxes, around 186 SIM cards, and 4-5 routers from the facility. The message was released purportedly by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, founder of US-based terrorist organisation 'Sikhs for Justice', with police stating that it was aimed at creating panic among people. The accused have been charged under various sections of the IPC u/s 153(A),153(B)(1)(C),505(1)(B),120(B) IT Act u/s 66(F) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967 u/s 16(1)(b) Was registered at cybercrime Police Station,Ahmedabad on 11/13/2023 Further investigation is underway to determine who else is behind the recorded message.
